Barcelona Prepare For Man United In Style, Pep And Mata, Rakitic On Devils

Manchester United did not play on Saturday, nor will they on Sunday and that makes this weekend boring for all the Red Devils. However, there were still interesting things happening, with the most emphasis on United’s next opponent, Barcelona.

Barcelona “Finish” La Liga Campaign

Barcelona have all but secured another La Liga title. In the big clash against Atletico Madrid, Los Colchoneros could not do much, as Diego Costa was sent off in his typical manner with less than 40 minutes being played. Atleti managed to keep the scoreline at 0-0 for almost the whole match, but against Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi ‘almost’ is not good enough.

It was 84th minute of the match when it was still goalless and it was 86th minute when the score was 2-0 for Barcelona. First, it was the Uruguayan who scored a brilliant goal from long range, before Messi put one past Jan Oblak 109 seconds later, to “kill” the title race completely. Barca now have 11 points more than Atletico and 13 more than Real Madrid, which means La Liga trophy will be staying at Camp Nou. Now, they will be attacking Champions League.

Rakitic On Manchester United

Barcelona won against Atleti and Ivan Rakitic talked about Manchester United. That is the next match for Blaugrana and the Croatian had nice words about the upcoming opponent.

“You have to know your best side, and the new Manchester United manager seems to know that. If you have to fight a bit more or play counterattacking then you do what is best. They are having good results and to score three goals in Paris was incredible. You have to respect Manchester for this comeback, for the organisation and fight in the team with so many young players.”

Pep Guardiola’s Story About Juan Mata

Manchester City managed to reach FA Cup final after beating Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0 at Wembley on Saturday and keep their dream of winning a quadruple alive. But after the match, Pep Guardiola insisted that is still unthinkable goal and he even talked about Man United’s Juan Mata. When asked about the Spaniard, Guardiola even said something about Mata we did not know before.

“He’s an exceptional player. One of the players I like the most – not love because I don’t know him well, but one of the players I like the most – we took an eye to try to bring him to Barcelona.”

Latest Rumours

Latest rumours regarding Manchester United have to do mostly with Romelu Lukaku. We wrote on Friday about the media making a story about the Belgian after his agent said he likes Italy as a footballing country, but everyone started creating rumours where the striker could end up this summer. Of course, it was Inter Milan who were mentioned, as Mauro Icardi might be leaving the club after the season ends.

It was pointed out by the Telegraph that the player’s big wages would be a huge problem for Inter, but there was even talk about Everton. Telegraph claim Everton will receive £5m if Lukaku leaves or signs a new contract before the end of his current contract which ends in June 2022.
