Manchester United’s top-four hopes are over. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s honeymoon period is finished, now he knows how big-of-a-task he has on his hands.
The 1-1 result away at Huddersfield Town just sums it up perfectly. The Red Devils were nowhere near good enough against a side that is already relegated. This club has hit a new low.
Marcus Rashford’s poor form continues and it seems as though the young Mancunian is taking most of the flak amongst social media. He did miss a glaring opportunity late on, while looking pretty slow and sluggish throughout…
Whether Im being lenient because he’s homegrown, I feel as though he’s carrying a knock of some sort. Rashford hasn’t looked fully fit since picking up that injury against Liverpool back in February, but due to a lack of alternative options, we’ve put pressure on the shoulders of a 21-year-old who is nowhere near the finished article.
In a sense it’s unfair. Nobody should expect Rashford to be the number one option at this stage in his career but again, it shows what a mess United are in at the moment.
He, like every other fan, probably just wants this season to be over so he can rest up, get fit and concentrate on improving his own form and United’s future next term.
